Four killed, 50 shops, 25 vehicles razed in Dei-Dei market crisis
The Vice-Chairman of Timber Shed Market Dei-Dei, Abuja, vice-chairman Ifeanyi Chibata has revealed that about 50 shops were burnt and 25 vehicles set ablaze in the crisis that engulfed the market on Wednesday.
Also, Tomato and Onion Sellers Association Dei-Dei secretary Dahiru Mani disclosed that four persons were killed during the clash in the market.
The made this known when FCT Minister Muhammad Bello visited the scene of the incident to ascertain the true situation.
IDOMA VOICE reports that trouble started in the market when a female trader fell off a commercial motorcycle and was crushed to death by an articulated vehicle.
Meanwhile, the FCT Minister has ordered the indefinite closure of Dei-Dei International Market following a clash between commercial motorcyclists (Okada riders) and traders.
