George Uloko, a former lawmaker representing Asa Ward in Otukpo, met an untimely demise during a brazen bank robbery that unfolded on Friday, October 20. Little did he know that this ordinary day would mark the end of his life.

IDOMA VOICE reports George Uloko commenced his day like any other, perhaps, starting with his morning prayers before setting out for his daily activities.

Among the items on his agenda was to conduct some financial transactions at one of the commercial banks in the town. Unbeknownst to him, peril was lurking in the shadows.

Tragedy struck as Uloko found himself inside the bank, which became a target for a group of armed robbers who stormed multiple commercial banks in Otukpo, spreading terror throughout the town.

The chaos that ensued left several innocent people dead, including the brave and dedicated police officer, SP John Adikwu, who served as the Divisional Police Officer of the Otukpo Central Police Station.

After his tenure in the council, George Uloko returned home and joined forces with local youths to establish a vigilante group dedicated to safeguarding their community. Described as an industrious and hardworking young man, Uloko’s life was tragically extinguished when the criminals descended upon the bank.

For his close friend, Attah David, the loss of George Uloko is an unbearable burden that feels surreal. In his heartfelt tribute, he expresses his deep pain and disbelief, saying, “I’m trying to be strong… I swear I can’t. The pain of losing a true and the best brother/friend to me… Uloko, this is too much for me to absorb 😭. Our memories will keep me going till we meet again. I’m confused, I feel your presence even though they say you are gone💔. What of our discussion about the remaining months? The good plans fa? I WISH TO KNOW EVEN IF IT’S ONE OF YOUR KILLERS.”

The loss of George Uloko in the tragic Otukpo bank robbery is not just a personal tragedy but a stark reminder of the devastating impact such criminal acts have on communities and the lives of those they touch.
