God will keep Tinubu in office until 2031 – Umahi
Minister of Works, David Umahi, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will continue to enjoy divine guidance and support to lead Nigeria through 2031 and advance the nation’s development agenda.
Umahi made the remarks on Thursday while inspecting several ongoing bridge rehabilitation projects in Lagos, including the Carter Bridge, whose reconstruction is expected to commence next week.
The minister said he believes God will continue to strengthen the Tinubu administration in addressing the country’s numerous challenges, especially insecurity.
“The same God that brought him is going to be there to solve all the problems,” Umahi said, urging Nigerians to back the government and cooperate with its efforts to restore peace and security nationwide.
According to him, every leader hopes for a stable and peaceful tenure, but effective leadership requires confronting difficulties whenever they emerge.
“There is no leader who will not want his reign to be peaceful, but when crises come, the leader must confront them. That is exactly what we are doing,” he said.
Umahi further noted that whether the nation’s security concerns are politically driven or not, he remains convinced that Tinubu will receive the wisdom and capacity needed to overcome them and tackle other pressing national issues.
The minister also voiced optimism that all projects initiated by the current administration would be completed successfully.
“Your hands that have started this will complete it,” Umahi stated, emphasizing his belief that the President continues to enjoy divine favour and support.
Speaking on the planned reconstruction of Carter Bridge, Umahi revealed that the project is expected to be completed within three years.
“It is within our five-year plan,” he added.
