Two people were on Monday, alleged to have died after a fresh attack in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen
on Monday.

The victims identified as Mr. Raphael Ezra and Daddy Riti, were killed on Sunday night at Kangboro village while returning home.

The killing of the two natives was said to have caused tension in the Council Area, but the state Police Command was yet to make a public statement on the incident as at the time of filing this report.

President of Irigwe Youth Movement, Mr. Chinge Dodo, confirmed the killing of the two natives in a statement in Jos on Monday
He noted that the killing of the two men on Sunday was the latest in the series of attacks by gunmen, which had left at least eight natives dead in the past twoweeks.

The youth leader said, “We are worried about the resumption of killings of our people.

“Herdsmen are gradually resuming the killings again because, in the last two weeks, four Irigwe people have been waylaid and killed.

“Last week, one Mr. Tana of Geh village was killed at his farm. Another one, Emmanuel Gado, aged 33, an Irigwe youth and resident of Gidan Ado village in Ganawuri chiefdom, was also killed.

“On Sunday, 14th April, at about 8pm, two Irigwe Youths, Mr. Raphael Ezra and Daddy Riti, were also killed with machetes while returning home at a village called Kangboro.

“We wish to use this medium to call on our people to be vigilant, as our attackers seem to be changing tactics as their new way of killing now is to ambush our people.
“We also call on security agencies to double their efforts, more so now that the rainy season is fast approaching.”
