Governor Bala Mohammed has described himself as a “freelance politician,” saying he is no longer firmly aligned with any political party.
He made the remark on Thursday while receiving Peter Obi and a delegation of stakeholders from the South-East at the Bauchi State Government House.
Mohammed said the engagement focused on national unity and cooperation, stressing that it was not driven by partisan considerations.
“Neither the PDP nor the ADC is standing alone. I consider myself a freelance politician now… we are all awaiting judicial clarity,” he said.
The governor, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), noted that ongoing political consultations among stakeholders are aimed at exploring possible alliances ahead of future elections.
He described Obi’s visit as significant, adding that it reflects efforts to build bridges across regions and promote national unity.
“He is advocating unity, bridge-building, and a better future for Nigeria. These are values we share,” Mohammed added.
