Kwadwo Asamoah retires from professional football
A former player for Juventus and Inter, Kwadwo Asamoah has declared his retirement from professional football.
Asamoah, who played for Cagliari at the club level in the 2020/2021 season and received 74 Ghanaian caps, has also competed at two World Cups. He took to social media to announce that he has officially ended one phase of his career and will now work as a player agent.
The versatile defender began his career at Udinese and earned 279 Serie A appearances, the most ever by an African player in the history of the league.
The Ghanaian moved to Juventus from Udinese in July 2012 and played for the Turin powerhouse for six seasons, winning 13 trophies, before spending two seasons with Inter.
His stay at Cagliari was short-lived due to injuries, and in May 2021, he made his final appearance in a barren draw with Inter Milan.
