1. Governor Samuel Ortom has assented to the 2022 supplementary budget with internal reviews and adjustments that maintain the appropriation envelope of N175,903,441,384.

The bill was recently passed by the Benue State House Assembly.

2. Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Terver Akase says the governorship flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rt Hon Titus Uba is the preferred choice of the people because of his vast experience, capacity and preparedness for the job.

Mr. Akase who was speaking as a guest on Harvest FM Makurdi’s current affairs programme ‘Good Morning Benue’, noted that the people deserve a Governor who would not waste two years or more learning on the job, expressing confidence that Uba will hit the ground running immediately as he assumes office.

3. No fewer than five people have been shot dead by gunmen suspected to be remnants of the slain Benue warlord, Terwase Akwaza aka Gana at Pevya town in the Katsina-Ala area of Benue state.

It was gathered that the suspected gunmen stormed a drinking joint where their target was having a nice time with friends on Wednesday which happened to be market day in the community.

4. Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, yesterday, promised voters in Benue State that his government, if elected president next year, would return peace and security to the state and restore its status as the food basket of the nation.

Obi, who was joined by his wife, and his running mate, Datti Ahmed-Baba, said the Nigerian economy collapsed, because “we have people in government who don’t know anything about government and they are just wasting people’s time.”

5. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has pleaded for forgiveness over his recent comment against the presidential flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.

Governor Ortom, who was angered by the activities of the Fulani herdsmen in the state, had in reference to Atiku, said he would not support another Fulani president in the 2023 presidential poll.

6. Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, on Thursday said ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has been drafted to resolve the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Suswam said the crisis within the PDP was a “family affair,” hence Jonathan has been drafted to resolve the issues.

7. The remains of Tunde Jonathan Owoicho, the first son of David Mark have been committed to mother earth.

Tunde, who died at the age of 51 on October 21, was laid to rest in his country home, Otukpo LGA of Benue State on Friday amid eulogies.

8. Hon. Chief James Oche, the Executive Chairman, Ado LGA, on Friday paid his last respect to his friend, Tunde David Mark.
Reacting, Oche prayed God to console the bereaved parents, especially his mentor and political godfather, David Mark.
