The Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC has appointed retired Major General John Enenche as Director of Security and Intelligence for its 2027 presidential campaign.
Enenche’s appointment was announced as the party unveiled its National Campaign Council to coordinate its activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A former military spokesperson, Enenche will oversee security and intelligence matters for the party’s presidential campaign.
His appointment is part of the NDC’s efforts to establish its campaign leadership and directorates as it prepares for the forthcoming elections.
The party also named Ali Garba Sarbi as Deputy Director of Security and Intelligence.
The National Campaign Council will be chaired by Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, the party’s national leader, while its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will serve as co-chairman.
Senator Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, the party’s national chairman and vice-presidential candidate, was named vice-chairman, while Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was appointed co-vice-chairman.
Ibrahim Hussain Abdulkarim was appointed Director-General of the presidential campaign.
The party said the council would coordinate campaign activities nationwide and mobilise support for its vision of a “new, just, and prosperous Nigeria.”
