Mason Greenwood sets to join Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq after Man Utd exit

Mason Greenwood appears to be on the verge of a potential transfer to Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifaq, with the Saudi Arabian club reportedly assessing an offer for the Manchester United forward.

Following the conclusion of an internal inquiry into his conduct, Manchester United declared on Monday that Greenwood is set to depart from the Premier League outfit. This development followed the dropping of attempted rape charges against him in February.

With a new chapter in sight, Greenwood is exploring options for a fresh start, and Al-Ettifaq is emerging as a possible destination, according to reports from The Sun.

Al-Ettifaq, who have started the season strongly with two league victories, are contemplating extending an offer to the 21-year-old English talent, which entails an annual contract worth £10 million.

Such an agreement would signify a notable increase compared to his ongoing contract with Manchester United, where he earns £75,000 per week, translating to around £4 million per year.

If Greenwood were to join Al-Ettifaq, he would reunite with Gerrard, who recently assumed the role of the club’s head coach in the previous month.
