Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner has bid farewell to Mikel Arteta’s squad and embarked on a new journey with Nottingham Forest, completing a permanent transfer this summer.

The announcement of Turner’s departure was made via Arsenal’s official website on Wednesday, adding a twist to the narrative just days before the Premier League season’s curtain raiser, which sees Arsenal facing none other than Nottingham Forest.

Edu, Arsenal’s Sporting Director, extended his gratitude to Turner for his contributions during his time with the Gunners. In a statement on the club’s website, Edu expressed, “On behalf of everyone at the club, we would like to thank Matt for his contribution to Arsenal and wish him and his family all the best in their new chapter. He is leaving with our best wishes to join Nottingham Forest.”

Turner’s departure marks a departure from his Arsenal stint, which began in June 2022 after making the switch from MLS side New England Revolution. During his time with the Gunners, the 29-year-old goalkeeper showcased his skills in seven appearances across various competitions, managing to keep four clean sheets in the process.
