Mourinho flies to Spain to finalise Real Madrid return
José Mourinho has flown to Spain to complete his return to Real Madrid. He has already reached a verbal agreement with club president Florentino Pérez. The agreement came before the club’s presidential election last weekend.
Pérez won the election against Enrique Riquelme. This result has cleared the way for Mourinho’s return to the Santiago Bernabéu after 13 years.
Mourinho is expected to sign a three-year contract. The club will then officially unveil him to the media as head coach.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared the update on X. He confirmed that Mourinho is already in Madrid for his presentation.
Real Madrid have also strengthened their squad ahead of the announcement. The club signed Ibrahima Konaté from Liverpool and Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan.
