‘I never knowingly took a banned substance’ — Mudryk
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has expressed relief after returning to football, insisting he never knowingly or intentionally took a banned substance.
In a statement following the conclusion of his doping case, the Ukraine international described the ordeal as the toughest period of his career. He also thanked everyone who stood by him throughout the process.
Mudryk said he can now focus fully on football after the case came to an end.
“After a long battle, the four-year ban that was imposed on me has been rescinded and I am free to resume my career with immediate effect,” he said.
“I am grateful that this process has reached a conclusion. I have been cleared to return to football, and I can now look ahead to my future”.
“This has been the most difficult period of my career”.
“As I have always maintained from the outset of this case, I have never knowingly or intentionally taken any banned substance.”
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old thanked his family, friends, Chelsea FC, his teammates, supporters and legal team for standing by him throughout the case.
He also expressed gratitude to everyone who continued to believe in him during the difficult period.
Looking ahead, Mudryk said he now wants to return to action, work hard every day and make a positive contribution on the pitch.
