The commencement of sales at Lagos’ food market, “Ounje Eko,” offering discounted prices on essential food items across the state, has been initiated, as reported by The Nation. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu directed that food products at these markets be sold at reduced rates in all five divisions of Lagos, starting from Sunday, March 17.
Following the Lagos state government’s announcement on February 22 of various interventions to alleviate economic challenges faced by residents, staple food items such as rice, beans, garri, bread, eggs, tomatoes, and pepper are now available at a 25% discount.

A notorious terrorist, Mohammed Dikko Radda, recently apprehended by vigilantes in the North-Western region of Nigeria, has admitted to losing count of the people he has killed.
Radda, originally from Jajjaye village in Katsina State, confessed in a video shared online by counterinsurgency expert and security analyst Zagazola Makama that he doesn’t keep track of his victims when he shoots them with his AK47 rifle.

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has urged the Senate President Mr Godswill Akpabio to urgently refer the allegations that lawmakers padded the 2024 budget by irregularly inserting projects worth N3.7 trillion to appropriate anti-corruption agencies for investigation and prosecution.
In the letter dated 16 March 2024 and signed by SERAP deputy director Kolawole Oluwadare, the organisation also urged Akpabio to immediately reinstate whistleblower Abdul Ningi who was recently suspended from the Senate over his allegations that the lawmakers padded the 2024 budget by irregularly inserting projects worth N3.7 trillion.
