Reports have emerged indicating that Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) teams will soon face a ban on live streaming their matches. According to the reports, live streaming of NPFL games will be exclusively handled by the accredited broadcast sponsor of the league.

The disclosure came from GTI Asset Management & Trust Limited, a partner of the NPFL, during a press briefing where they announced the review of the prize money for the upcoming 2023-24 season.

As the newly appointed NPFL board continues to make preparations for the new season, the decision to restrict live streaming to the league’s official broadcast sponsor is expected to be implemented.

Notably, the winner of the 2023-24 NPFL season will be awarded a substantial cash prize of N150 million, adding an extra incentive for teams to strive for success.

The forthcoming NPFL season is set to kick off on August 26, promising an exciting and competitive contest among the participating clubs.
