The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2023/24 season is set to commence this upcoming weekend.
In an official communication to all 20 clubs, the NPFL board confirmed the kickoff of the season. Additionally, it was announced that each club will be provided with a N20 million take-off grant.
However, matches involving CAF Confederation Cup participants, Rivers United FC and Bendel Insurance FC, will be temporarily postponed due to their continental commitments this weekend.
Rivers United is scheduled to host Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso in the second leg of their second round at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Bendel Insurance will journey to Morocco for their second-leg clash against former champions, RS Berkane.
