Ogun APM rejects BCO poster, declares Babajide governorship candidate
The party described the poster as fake and warned individuals spreading it to stop creating confusion over its candidate.
APM State Chairman, Comrade Abayomi Sanyaolu, issued the warning in a statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta on Monday.
Sanyaolu said the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had confirmed TPL Rotimi Babajide as the party’s authentic governorship candidate in Ogun State.
He urged residents and party supporters to ignore any information suggesting that another candidate would represent APM in the election.
The chairman also assured supporters that the party had no dispute over its governorship ticket. He called on them to support Babajide and work towards his victory in 2027.
Sanyaolu further urged the electorate to disregard the circulating poster and remain committed to the party’s campaign.
The poster, which has gone viral on social media, features Ogundipe wearing a blue suit alongside the APM logo. It also carries a message presenting him as the party’s candidate and urging voters to support him for governor.
However, Ogundipe is a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress ADC, where he has been involved in a fierce contest with Jimi Ayo Lawal over the party’s governorship ticket in Ogun State.
The latest development comes amid preparations by political parties for the 2027 general elections.
