OPWS arrest two suspected human organ traffickers in Benue

Troops attached to Sector 1 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested two individuals suspected of involvement in human organ trafficking during a security operation in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects were apprehended around 6:36 p.m. on July 13 in Atongo community after troops acted on credible intelligence.

According to the sources, preliminary findings indicate that the suspects are linked to alleged human organ trafficking activities, although investigations are still ongoing to establish the full extent of their involvement.

The sources further disclosed that the suspects have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The latest arrest forms part of the sustained operations by Operation Whirl Stroke aimed at dismantling criminal syndicates and tackling violent crimes across Benue State and other parts of the North Central region.
