Suspected terrorists, believed to be unknown gunmen, have tragically ended the life of Alhaji Musa Ille, the secretary of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The incident occurred on Monday when the deceased was fatally shot in front of his residence in Tsafe.

A resident, speaking to the press, lamented the loss, describing Alhaji Musa Ille as a respected and righteous member of the community. His untimely demise has left a somber atmosphere in the neighborhood.

Zamfara State, like many others in the Northern region, grapples with the menace of criminal elements commonly referred to as bandits. These perpetrators terrorize villages, perpetrate violence, and leave destruction in their wake, instilling fear and anguish among residents.

These criminal groups often establish bases in expansive forests spanning Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, and Niger states. Their activities include large-scale kidnappings, particularly targeting students from educational institutions, further exacerbating the security challenges in the region.

In a distressing turn of events, another notable figure within the PDP ranks in Zamfara, Alhaji Shafiu Abubakar, along with two associates, met a similar fate. They were ambushed and killed near Danbaza junction and Maradun town, which serves as the headquarters of Maradun local government area.

Alhaji Shafiu Abubakar had been actively pursuing his aspirations to vie for the chairmanship seat of Maradun Local Government Area council in the forthcoming local government elections, making his demise particularly poignant and disheartening.
