Shehu Sani reacts to Tinubu’s ministerial list

Former Senator from Kaduna State, Shehu Sani, has made serious allegations against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming that Tinubu rewarded some untrustworthy individuals for their betrayal during the last general elections. Sani disclosed this on his official Twitter handle in response to Tinubu’s Ministerial list.

The list, read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during the plenary, includes the names of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, Rivers State counterpart Nyesom Wike, and 26 other nominees. Reacting to the nominations, Sani described some of the nominees as “serpents with a known history of betrayal” and referred to others as “vultures” who were rewarded for playing the role of Judas.

Following the revelation of the ministerial list, there has been a mix of reactions from Nigerians on social media. While some commended President Tinubu for his choices, others criticized the list, accusing it of being a mere recycling of old politicians who have previously contributed to the country’s challenges.

Notably, some prominent figures in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who were expected to be part of President Tinubu’s cabinet were conspicuously absent from the list. Speculations about the inclusion of former Kano State governor Abdullahi Ganduje, former Osun State governor Adegboyega Oyetola, and other party stalwarts who worked towards Tinubu’s victory in the previous presidential election did not materialize. However, there have been suggestions that Ganduje and Oyetola may still occupy leadership positions within the APC.

Furthermore, notable names like former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode and former Minister of Labour and Employment Festus Keyamo were also missing from the long-awaited list of ministerial nominees.
