The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, Hon. Engr. Sunny Oche, has connected several communities to the 33kVA electricity distribution network as part of efforts to improve power supply and expand critical infrastructure across the council.

The project, commissioned on July 8, included the installation of a 33kVA gang isolator at Rijo, a development expected to improve the efficiency, stability and operational flexibility of electricity distribution within the affected communities.

Beneficiary communities include Ogi, Ikpomolokpo, Watuolo and Rijo, where residents and businesses have endured years of poor and unstable electricity supply.

The council said the intervention is expected to improve voltage regulation, reduce power outages, stimulate commercial activities, enhance access to essential services and improve the overall quality of life of residents.

Speaking on the project, Oche described the electricity upgrade as part of his administration’s commitment to addressing long-standing infrastructure deficits in Ado LGA.

According to him, the project was conceived as a practical and sustainable solution to the electricity challenges facing the benefiting communities.

“The upgrade was conceived as a practical and sustainable solution to improve power supply, stimulate economic activities, support education and healthcare services, and enhance the overall quality of life of our people,” he said.

The chairman reaffirmed that providing basic infrastructure remains a key priority of his administration’s people-centred development agenda.

He also commended the engineers and technical personnel who handled the project, expressing confidence that the upgraded network would provide lasting benefits to the communities.

“The upgraded network will provide lasting benefits and significantly strengthen electricity supply within the affected communities,” Oche stated.

He pledged to sustain the delivery of people-oriented projects aimed at improving public infrastructure and the welfare of residents across Ado Local Government Area.

Oche further said his administration would continue to complement the development agenda of Governor Hyacinth Alia by implementing projects that promote sustainable development and improve the living standards of the people.
