Super Falcons retain 36th spot in FIFA rankings, remain Africa’s best

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have maintained their 36th position in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking, released on 6 March 2025, reaffirming their status as Africa’s top-ranked women’s football team.

The Falcons lead the continent ahead of South Africa’s Banyana Banyana (53rd), Morocco (61st), Zambia (62nd), and Ghana (66th).

During the review period, Nigeria recorded convincing wins over Algeria (2-0 and 4-1) but suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to France. Despite the setback, the Super Falcons remain the dominant force in African women’s football.

Globally, the United States retains the top spot, followed by Spain and Germany. England sits in fourth place, while Japan completes the top five.
