Nigeria vs Lesotho: How to watch today’s World Cup Qualifier live

Published

on

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will square off against the Crocodiles of Lesotho today (Friday, October 10, 2025) in their penultimate Group C clash of the 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers.

Nigeria currently occupy third place in the group with 11 points from eight matches, three points adrift of joint leaders Benin Republic and South Africa.

The Super Eagles’ qualification hopes received a boost earlier this month after FIFA deducted three points and three goals from South Africa for fielding an ineligible player, Teboho Mokoena, during their March 2025 fixture against Lesotho.

When both sides last met on November 16, 2023, in Uyo, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Team News

Head coach Eric Chelle has named a 23-man squad for the crucial encounter, making two late adjustments to his lineup. Zaidu Sanusi replaces Bright Osayi-Samuel, while Uche Christantus comes in for Cyriel Dessers. Captain William Troost-Ekong will marshal the defence, with Terem Moffi, Alhassan Yusuf, and Olakunle Olusegun returning to the squad.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali retains his position as first choice, supported by Amas Obasogie and Adebayo Adeleye. The midfield will be anchored by Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, and Alhassan Yusuf, while Victor Osimhen leads the attacking line alongside Ademola Lookman, Moses Simon, and Samuel Chukwueze.

Opponent Watch

Lesotho will host the tie in South Africa, following FIFA’s directive disqualifying their home ground for not meeting international standards. The Crocodiles will be aiming to upset Nigeria’s qualifying chances as they seek to end their campaign on a high.

Elsewhere in Group C, Benin Republic take on Rwanda, while South Africa face Zimbabwe, two fixtures that could prove decisive for Nigeria’s path to qualification.
