Tinubu asks Soludo for land to build retirement home in Anambra

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made a symbolic request to the Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, asking for a plot of land in the state to build his retirement home.
Tinubu made the request on Thursday during a town hall meeting with residents of Anambra as part of his one-day working visit to the state, where he also commissioned several projects executed by the Soludo administration.
Addressing the gathering, President Tinubu declared himself a “bona fide son of Anambra,” emphasizing his connection to the people of the state and praising their hospitality.
“I am now a bona-fide son of Anambra. A son of the soil. One of your sons,” the President said.
“And as indeed your own son, maybe my friend, your governor, should find me a plot of land for my retirement home.
“You don’t have to move me from the Villa for only one week; give me a permanent abode. It’s well with Anambra. It’s well with Nigeria.”
The President also took the opportunity to reaffirm his administration’s resolve to tackle insecurity and rebuild national unity.
“May our fighting men and women see victory. We’ll conquer insurgency. We’ll defeat them. I assure you. This country is blessed and Anambra is part of it. Anambra is rising, and we will rise together,” Tinubu added.
Earlier, Governor Soludo, in a show of political goodwill, reiterated that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), his party, remains committed to supporting the federal government regardless of party affiliations.
He said APGA has adopted a policy of cooperation with the government at the center, adding that his administration would continue to support President Tinubu’s leadership until the end of his tenure in 2031.
