Transfer: Folarin Balogun keen to dump Arsenal for Chelsea

Folarin Balogun, the highly sought-after 22-year-old striker, has reportedly expressed his willingness to depart from Arsenal and potentially join their London rivals, Chelsea.

Having showcased his prowess by netting an impressive 22 goals during his loan spell at Reims in the previous season, Balogun currently finds himself on the periphery of Mikel Arteta’s plans for the ongoing campaign at Arsenal.

Sources indicate that the Hale End academy graduate is open to a transfer across the English capital to Stamford Bridge. Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea, known for their significant investments in player acquisitions, are keen on reinforcing their striking options before the transfer window closes. As part of this ambition, they have initiated discussions to potentially acquire the young talent, according to MIRROR.

However, negotiations between the two clubs are reportedly facing a significant hurdle due to the price tag placed on Balogun. Arsenal has set a substantial £50 million fee for the promising goalscorer, a valuation that Chelsea is reported to be considerably distant from matching at this stage.

While other clubs such as Fulham and Monaco have also emerged as potential suitors, the financial demands associated with Balogun’s transfer fee could present obstacles for these interested parties. This predicament could compel Arsenal to reevaluate their stance and potentially consider lowering their asking price to around £40 million.
