True National Independence still in the pipeline in Nigeria: 2022 Independence Day message from G-9

The leadership and the entire members of G-9, Benue South Progressive Forum heartily felicitate with the Federal Government and fellow Nigerians on the 62nd independence anniversary of the country, 1st October, 2022.

As a group of patriotic citizens, the G-9 feels so indebted to every process of making Nigeria a truly independent nation where all indices concomitant with independence are tangibly visible and real.

For Nigeria, it has been a journey of 62 years of nationhood and sovereignty, but the true beauty of independence is yet to fully reflect on its economy and on her citizens.

The nagging challenges of insecurity, unemployment, corruption, crass marginalization of minority groups across the states, etcetera are part of the deep concerns necessitating the interventions of G-9 in the leadership project of this nation. These challenges loudly speak to the fact that true independence is still in the pipeline in our dear country Nigeria.

As a socio-political group, the G-9 is passionate about changing the narratives and will stop at nothing to ensure the vision of making Nigeria a better place is realized.

As we celebrate this year’s independence anniversary, we encourage all citizens to be strong in hope and join hands with G-9 to actively participate in the 2023 general election and choose the best leaders for our country across the federation.
We specifically urge the people of Benue State to totally reject all Candidates whose candidatures do not reflect the choice of the people but the selfish interest of party’s sole administrator(s) in the state, and thus vote courageously for the development of Benue state.

Long Live G-9
Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Happy Independence to you all.
Signed:
Akor Ikwuoche,
Public Secretary, G-9
