A viral video has captured a moment involving a man wearing President Bola Tinubu’s signature cap as he attempted to take a selfie with Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

The incident reportedly occurred in Lagos State during an event attended by Obi, where a large crowd of supporters gathered around him, eager to take photographs.

In the clip, supporters could be heard chanting, “My President, Peter Obi is here,” as they surged forward to get closer to the former Anambra State governor.

Amid the excitement, the man, believed to be a supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was seen trying to position himself for a selfie with Obi, appearing to struggle briefly due to the crowd.

He was later seen exchanging pleasantries with Obi, drawing reactions on social media over the cross-party interaction.

Obi, who contested the 2023 presidential election, has remained a prominent figure in Nigeria’s political space. He is widely expected to participate in the 2027 elections, with reports suggesting he may seek the ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Although several opposition figures are reportedly interested in the ADC ticket, observers say Obi remains a strong contender for the party’s presidential nomination.

The video has since generated mixed reactions online, with many commenting on the significance of the moment in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
