Vivian Wilson: Elon Musk’s transgender daughter plans to leave US after Trump’s victory

Vivian Wilson, the 20-year-old transgender daughter of tech billionaire Elon Musk, has announced plans to leave the United States in response to Donald Trump’s recent election win.

In a post on Threads, Wilson expressed her unease about the political climate under Trump’s leadership, according to the UK’s Daily Mail.

“I don’t see my future in the United States,” she wrote. “I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but yesterday confirmed it. Even if he’s only in office for four years, even if anti-trans regulations don’t appear, those who voted for him are still here.”

Born Xavier Musk in 2004, Vivian legally changed her name and gender in April 2022, also requesting to cut ties with Musk by adopting her mother’s maiden name, Wilson.

The court filing included her statement: “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape, or form.”

Musk, who has openly supported Trump, has previously spoken about his strained relationship with Vivian. He described her as a “communist” with an aversion to wealth and claimed he was pressured into approving her use of puberty blockers.

“I was essentially misled into signing documents for Xavier,” Musk, 53, said, explaining that he didn’t fully understand the decision at the time, partly due to concerns over Vivian’s mental health during COVID.

Musk, a vocal critic of gender-affirming treatments, has previously referred to puberty blockers as “sterilization drugs” and gender dysphoria as “incredibly evil.” He has argued that those advocating for it “should go to prison,” stating, “I lost my son… It’s called ‘deadnaming’ because your son is dead, killed by the woke mind virus.”

In response to Musk’s comments, Vivian said her father had little involvement in her life and often disapproved of her “femininity and queerness.”

“He doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he wasn’t around,” she wrote. “I was repeatedly harassed for my femininity and queerness. I think that speaks volumes about his view on queer people and children.”
