12 UN workers killed in Gaza

At least a dozen individuals affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency have lost their lives in Gaza since this past Saturday, according to a spokesperson for the UN’s secretary-general.

CNN has reported that all 12 of the UN workers who tragically lost their lives were Palestinians. Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesperson, conveyed this information while addressing reporters in New York on Thursday.

The conflict in Gaza has led to a significant displacement of individuals, with hundreds of thousands forced to leave their homes. Dujarric emphasized the escalating crisis, indicating that mass displacement in the Gaza Strip has surged by 30 percent in the last 24 hours, reaching a staggering number exceeding 338,000. Notably, about two-thirds of these displaced individuals have sought refuge in 92 schools administered by the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
