Australia’s forward, Caitlin Foord, has set her sights on scoring a hat-trick in the upcoming 2023 Women’s World Cup Group B match against Nigeria’s Super Falcons.

In an interview hosted by Australia goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold, Foord expressed her optimism ahead of the co-hosts’ crucial game against the Super Falcons.

Having secured a 1-0 victory against debutants Republic of Ireland in their opening game, Australia will aim for another win as they face Nigeria.

Reflecting on her feelings heading into the game, Foord said, “I’m feeling really good, really positive,” in the interview posted on Australia’s women’s national team’s Twitter handle.

When asked about her goal-scoring ambitions for the match, Foord confidently stated, “I think two and if I’m feeling it, three.”

Both Foord and Arnold played in Australia’s 1-0 win against Republic of Ireland, and they are eager to continue their winning streak in the tournament.

With 29 goals in 108 appearances for the Australia women’s national team since her debut in 2011, Foord brings experience and attacking prowess to the team. This will be her third World Cup appearance, having made her debut as a 16-year-old in the 2011 tournament in Germany.

Foord was also part of the Australia squad that defeated the Super Falcons 2-0 in their second group game at the 2015 World Cup in Canada.

Currently playing for Arsenal women’s team, the 28-year-old forward has netted 20 goals in 56 games, showcasing her scoring abilities at both club and international levels.
