Rear Admiral Chris Ehanmo is dead, Idoma community mourns

The death has been announced of former Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command; Rear Admiral Christopher Ehanmo [rtd].

IDOMA VOICE gathered that Ehanmo died during the week in his old age.

This was confirmed in a statement by Elaigwu Odogbo Obagaji John, the Och’Idoma.The monarch said he received the sad news of the elder statesman’s demise in the early hours of Wednesday.

He described Ehanmo’s death as a great loss to the Idoma national heritage, especially in this age and time of decline in our national security, considering his wealth of experience.

Until his sudden death, he was the Chairman of the League of Idoma Retired Generals, after meritoriously serving the country and exiting as a highly decorated and one of the most accomplished high-ranking Nigerian Naval officers of Idoma extraction.

He was also an active member of the Peace and Security Committee set up by His Royal Majesty. His useful and cogent advice will be greatly missed.

Och’Idoma, while consoling the immediate family, Idoma nation, and Nigerian military said, our consolation is in the fact that the elder statesman passed on after dutiful service to the fatherland and epoching as Chairman League of Idoma Retired Generals, contributing his service to the development of Idoma nation till his death.
Similalrly, the Apa-Agatu National Solidarity Forum leadership has expressed deep shock over the sudden death of one of it finest retired Army officer, Rear Admiral Christopher Ehanmo.

In a condolence message signed on behalf of the group, the national coordinator Comrade Adanu Isaiah described the deseased as an accomplished elder statesman and patriotic gentle man whose contributions to the unity of Nigeria remains unmatched and whose love for the Idoma nation can not be quantified.
