FACT CHECK: Mohabad’s death: Naira Marley’s house was not burnt down by youths

Claims have circulated that the house of the popular artist Naira Marley was allegedly set on fire by an angry mob in response to the death of his former signee, Mohbad. Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, passed away on September 12, at the age of 27. He had previously been signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records but left the label in 2022 due to irreconcilable differences.

Some sources have alleged that Naira Marley used his friend, known as Sam Larry, to harass Mohbad after his departure from Marlian Records. In fact, a video emerged showing Sam Larry assaulting Mohbad during a video shoot with Zlatan Ibile.

Additionally, certain individuals shared video clips depicting a house being raised and claimed it was Naira Marley’s residence.

Verification: However, upon investigation by IDOMA VOICE, it has been determined that the story is false. The video being circulated does not show Naira Marley’s house, and the claims of his house being burnt down by a mob are unfounded.

Why am I just seeing this video for the first time??

Sam Larry and a group of boys with cutlasses attacked Mohbad who was on set with Zlatan. They’d have probably killed him earlier if not for Zlatan’s intervention.
