Super Eagles draft Awaziem to replace injured Collins in squad

Boavista’s defender Chidozie Awaziem has been called up to the Super Eagles squad as a replacement for the injured Jamilu Collins in the upcoming friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.

Awaziem becomes the third player to receive a late call-up for the friendlies, joining Tyrone Ebuehi and Umar Sadiq who replaced Nottingham Forest duo Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi on Sunday night.

Having been a consistent performer for Boavista this season, Awaziem’s inclusion adds depth to the Super Eagles’ squad.

The national team will commence their camp for the games on Tuesday, gearing up to face Saudi Arabia in Portimao, Portugal, on Friday, followed by a friendly against Mozambique three days later.
