Alia condemns robbery attack on banks in Otukpo
Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has strongly condemned the recent armed robbery attacks that took place in Otukpo town, targeting several commercial banks. In a statement released to the press by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives during this violent robbery.
The Governor described the robbery as a grave affront to the state, particularly since it occurred simultaneously with a Security Council meeting in progress in Makurdi. He emphasized that the incident was unfortunate and deeply distressing, given that those who lost their lives, particularly police officers, were on duty when they were senselessly shot and killed by the ruthless robbers.
Governor Alia asserted that the perpetrators of this heinous crime would not escape justice. He assured that law enforcement agencies are actively pursuing the culprits, and they will be arrested and brought to justice.
In response to this alarming incident, the Governor called upon the people of the state to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities or movements they observe in their surroundings. He underscored the importance of collective efforts to enhance security in the state and prevent such occurrences in the future.
