Why Benue will soon recall Akume – Gov. Ortom
Governor Samuel Ortom has said a machinery will soon be put in place to commence the recall of Senator representing Benue North West, Dr. George Akume.
He spoke when the members of Masev Development Association led by Mr. Nicholas Gyegwe paid him a solidarity visit at Benue People’s House, Makurdi.
The Governor who is from the same senatorial zone with Dr. Akume said the recall of the senator has become necessary following his abysmal performance as their representative.
He explained that for more than ten years of Senator Akume in the Senate, he has not attracted any development to the zone or sponsor any bill or motion on the floor of the house.
Governor Ortom decried the recent comments of Senator Akume concerning the killings in the state where he accused the state Government of master minding it, saying he would have to prove the allegation before the Supreme Assembly of Tiv Area Traditional Council.
