As the anticipation for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations builds, Nigeria’s 25-man roster has been announced along with the official squad numbers. The allocations provide insights into key positions and roles within the Super Eagles squad for the upcoming tournament.
Francis Uzoho has been assigned the prestigious no1 shirt, signaling his position as the likely first-choice goalkeeper for the team during the tournament. Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, a key figure in Nigeria’s attacking lineup, has been given the iconic no9 shirt, aligning with expectations.
The squad numbers also reveal the following allocations:
- Ahmed Musa: no7
- Joe Aribo: no10
- Victor Boniface: no24
- Alex Iwobi: no17
- Kelechi Iheanacho: no14
- Samuel Chukwueze: no11
The Super Eagles are placed in Group A alongside hosts Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau. The highly anticipated tournament is scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 11.
