Multichoice increases price of DStv, GOtv packages in Nigeria

Multichoice, the broadcasting company, has raised the prices of its services in Nigeria, marking the fourth increase in just four months.
Effective May 1, 2024, the company has revised the pricing across its various packages. For instance, the DStv Premium package now costs N37,000, up from N29,500. Similarly, the DStv Compact+ has risen from N19,800 to N25,000, and the Compact package now stands at N15,700, up from N12,500.
In addition, the Comfam package has been adjusted to N9,300 from N7,400, the Yanga package to N5,100 from N4,200, and the Padi package to N3,600 from N2,950. Other adjustments include the HDPVR and Access Fees packages, both now priced at N5,000 from N4,000, and XtraView, also now at N5,000 from N4,000.
Similarly, the Gotv Supa+ package now costs N15,700, up from N12,500, the Supa package at N9,600 from N7,600, and the Max package at N7,200 from N5,700.
On the GOtv side, the Jolli package has been increased to N4,850 from N3,950, the Jinja package to N3,300 from N2,700, and the Smallie package to N1,575 from N1,300.
Recall that Multichoice previously implemented a price increase in December 2023, shortly after announcing a $72 million loss in its financial statement for the third quarter of the year. At that time, there was a 20 percent hike across all packages.
