Gunmen attack Senator Natasha’s family home in Kogi
Unknown gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday reportedly attacked the family home of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers, armed with cutlasses and guns stormed the residence at about 1:00 am, vandalizing parts of the building, smashing windows, and causing widespread panic in the neighborhood. Sources say at least three men were involved in the assault.
Upon receiving a distress call from Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, officers from the Okehi Police Division promptly responded and arrived at the scene. No casualties were recorded, and no arrests have been made so far.
While the motive for the attack remains unclear, the incident comes amid heightened public attention surrounding Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, who recently made sexual harassment allegations against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
According to counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, police have launched a preliminary investigation and are actively pursuing leads to uncover those behind the attack. The Senator has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
