President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared a seven-day period of national mourning in honour of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who died on Sunday in London.

In a statement released shortly after the announcement of Buhari’s death, President Tinubu ordered that all national flags be flown at half-mast across Nigeria beginning Sunday, July 13, as a mark of respect for the late statesman.

Describing Buhari’s passing as a profound national loss, Tinubu called on Nigerians to reflect on the former President’s legacy of service, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the country.
