Imo: Gov Uzodimma raises doctors’ salary to N533,000, approves N104,000 minimum wage
Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has announced a new minimum wage of N104,000 for civil servants in the state.
The governor made this known during a meeting with the state workforce at the Government House, Owerri, according to TVC News.
He further disclosed that doctors in the state civil service will now earn N533,000 monthly.
Uzodimma explained that the wage increase was made possible by a boost in the state’s internally generated revenue as well as higher federal allocations.
He added that the new salary structure is intended to energize the state’s economy while improving workers’ welfare and productivity.
The governor also revealed that his administration has earmarked N16 billion to settle outstanding gratuity arrears owed to pensioners in the state.
