Nigerian Navy opens 2025 recruitment for Basic Training School Batch 38 [APPLY]
The Nigerian Navy has announced the commencement of its recruitment exercise into the Basic Training School, Batch 38.
According to a statement from the Navy Secretary, online registration will run from October 2 to October 31, 2025, while the recruitment examination is scheduled to hold nationwide on November 29, 2025.
The Navy emphasized that the entire recruitment process is free of charge and warned applicants not to make any payments to anyone under any circumstances.
Interested applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, possess a National Identification Number (NIN), and meet the minimum height requirements of 1.68 meters for males and 1.65 meters for females. Candidates must also be medically, psychologically, and physically fit, and free from any previous criminal convictions.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Interested and qualified applicants are to apply FREE OF CHARGE online at https://www.joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng
Only a single valid application is permitted, multiple online applications shall be disqualified.
Applicants are to print out the under listed documents after completion of application online:
a. Acknowledgement Form.
b. Parent/Guardian Consent Form.
c. Local Government Attestation Form (To be signed by a military officer of or the rank of Commander in the NN or equivalent in the AFN or Local Government Chairman).
d. Guarantor’s Certification Form.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess National Identification Number (NIN).
Applicants must not be less than 1.68m height for males and 1.65m height for females.
Applicants must be medically, psychologically and physically fit.
Applicants must be free of any previous conviction(s) on criminal grounds by a court of law.
GUIDELINES FOR APPLICANTS
8a. Applicants with O’Level/SSCE results must be between the ages of 18 and 22 years as at 31 December 2025. They must possess a minimum of 5 credits, including Mathematics and English Language in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB not older than 2019.
b. Applicants with OND/NCE must be between the ages of 18 and 26 years while those for Chaplain/Imam Assistant and Drivers/Mechanic must be between 18 and 28 years of age as at 31 December 2025. They must possess a minimum of 5 credits including Mathematics and English in not more than two (2) sittings in WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB not older than 2015.
c. Tradesmen applying for the following categories must possess Trade Test certificates as well as a credit in English Language with minimum of 4 passes in other subjects WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB not older than 2015:
(1) Tailoring
(2) Carpentry
(3) Plumbing
(4) Masonry
(5) Welding
(6) Electrical Work
(7) Painting
(8) Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology.
d. Applicants applying for professions allied to medicine must possess ND from recognized training institutions in Nigeria and a valid practicing license.
e. Applicants applying as sportsmen/women are to present evidence of their experience, which shall include certificates and medals.
f. All applicants must be proficient in the use of English Language. Inability to communicate in basic English Language shall lead to disqualification at any stage of the Recruitment process.
NOTE
Online Registration commences from 2 to 31 October 2025.
Recruitment Examination will hold on 29 November 2025 at designated centres nationwide.
Please note that Nigerian Navy Online registration and all other Recruitment processes are FREE OF CHARGE and no payment should be made at any point to anyone throughout the Exercise.
The Attestation Form must be accompanied by the passport photograph and photocopy of the signee’s Driver License, International Passport or National ID Card. The signee is also to authenticate the passport photograph of the applicant.
Successful applicants will undergo basic military training and on completion will be enlisted into the Service of the Nigerian Navy as Ordinary Seamen.
