The family of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, the renowned international evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, has formally announced his passing.

In a statement titled “Glorious Transition,” the family said the revered man of God passed on to glory on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80.

Describing him as “a faithful soldier of the cross,” the family noted that Rev. Dr. Ukpai devoted more than six decades of his life to passionate evangelism, dynamic teaching, and prophetic demonstrations of God’s power.

They highlighted his immense impact on millions of lives across Nigeria and beyond, describing him as a spiritual general, a pioneer of faith, a loving husband, a devoted father, and a mentor to many. His life, the statement added, was a true reflection of God’s grace, power, and love.

While expressing deep sorrow over his departure, the family said they rejoice that he has completed his earthly race and is now resting in eternal glory.

Details of his burial arrangements, according to the family, will be made public in due course.

The statement ended with the scripture: “For indeed, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” — Philippians 1:21.
