Trump is a liar, there is no Christian genocide in Nigeria – Femi Falana

Human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, has accused United States President Donald Trump of misleading the global community with his recent claim that Christians are being subjected to genocide in Nigeria.

Falana made the statement on Wednesday during an appearance on Politics Today, a Channels Television programme monitored by Daily Post.

His comments follow Trump’s declaration of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) and his threat to order military action if the Nigerian government “continues to allow the killing of Christians.”

Reacting to the statement, Falana said the U.S. president’s comments were baseless and deeply offensive to African nations.

“Mr Trump doesn’t regard us as anything at all; Nigeria and South Africa. For him, we are either a sh*thole country or a disgraceful country,” Falana said.

“I’m going to look at this from a human rights perspective. I’m not a diplomat. My position is that Mr Trump has lied to the whole world by alleging Christian genocide in Nigeria without any evidence to back it up.”
