AFCON Round of 16: Two countries eliminated from tournament
Two countries have been eliminated from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following the conclusion of Saturday’s Round of 16 fixtures in Morocco.
Sudan and Tunisia are the teams exiting the tournament.
Sudan failed to reach the quarter-finals after a 3-1 loss to Senegal. Tunisia, on the other hand, was eliminated after a 3-2 defeat to Mali in a penalty shootout, following a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes of play.
More Round of 16 matches are scheduled for Sunday. Host nation Morocco will face Tanzania, while Cameroon will take on South Africa in the other last-16 clash later tonight.
