The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, has voiced confidence that President Bola Tinubu is on course for a commanding victory in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking at his Abuja residence on Saturday, Matawalle urged Nigerians and political leaders to rally behind the administration and support its ongoing reform agenda.

He highlighted that the President’s governance approach and policy decisions are gradually positioning Nigeria toward economic recovery, stronger institutions, and enhanced national unity.

Matawalle cautioned against early political maneuvering and internal power struggles, warning that such actions, driven by narrow interests, could undermine the country’s democratic progress.

He said, “President Tinubu has implemented decisive measures to stabilise the economy and reinforce national institutions. Those seeking to challenge him are driven by personal ambition rather than the nation’s welfare. If he is allowed to complete his reform agenda, I am confident he will achieve a resounding win in 2027.”

The minister pointed out that the effects of government policies are already visible across the country, particularly in Northern Nigeria, where governance reforms, security initiatives, and institutional development are gaining traction.

Matawalle called on political actors to prioritize dialogue and cooperation instead of division, stressing that national interests must take precedence over individual ambitions.

He also encouraged citizens to support government programs aimed at sustainable economic growth, improved security, and strengthened national cohesion.

“Instead of engaging in political squabbles and short-term calculations, our focus should be on creating jobs, enhancing security, and building stronger institutions for Nigerians,” he concluded.
