At least 555 people have died in Iran following U.S. and Israeli military strikes that began two days ago, the Iranian Red Crescent reported on Monday.

In a statement on Telegram, the humanitarian organization said: “Following the Zionist-American terrorist attacks carried out in various regions of our country, 131 cities have been affected to date and, regrettably, 555 of our compatriots have been killed.”

The strikes mark a major escalation in the ongoing conflict in the region, which has already resulted in widespread casualties and infrastructure damage across multiple provinces.
