The family of Ihotu John Rebecca, a Nigerian female footballer kidnapped along the Benin Expressway, has appealed to well-meaning Nigerians for urgent assistance, as her abductors are demanding a ₦20 million ransom.

Ihotu, a young footballer who currently plays for Pacesetter Queens FC in the NWFL Premiership, was kidnapped while returning home.

Her family emphasized that she is a dedicated athlete who has committed her life to representing Nigerian women’s football at the highest domestic level. At this moment, she is in danger, and time is critical.

They are making an urgent appeal to football stakeholders, club executives, sponsors, government officials, sports administrators, and all Nigerians who can help to assist in securing her safe release.
