Atiku’s son, Adamu resigns as Adamawa Commissioner after two terms
The Commissioner for Works and Energy Development in Adamawa State, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar, has stepped down from his position after completing two terms in office.
Adamu, who is the son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
In the letter, he conveyed deep appreciation to the governor for the trust and opportunity given to him to serve in such a critical role.
His decision to leave the cabinet comes in the wake of Governor Fintiri’s recent move from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. Meanwhile, his father remains a member of the African Democratic Congress.
Adamu described his time in office as a great honour and pledged his continued support for the administration’s development agenda. He also thanked his father for his guidance and encouragement throughout his service to the people of Adamawa.
The former commissioner commended the Permanent Secretaries of Works and Energy, as well as directors, engineers and other ministry staff, for their dedication and professionalism in advancing infrastructure across the state.
He further extended appreciation to the people of Jada for their prayers and steadfast support during his tenure.
Adamu stressed that his resignation does not signal the end of his involvement in public service, but rather opens a new chapter for continued contributions to the unity, growth and development of Adamawa State.
Notably, he did not join the APC alongside other cabinet members prior to his resignation.
