The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has scheduled its National Convention for April 14, 2026, as part of a series of internal activities aimed at restructuring the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the party, ward congresses will commence on April 7, followed by local government congresses on April 9 and state congresses on April 11, with the entire process culminating in the national convention.

The ADC explained that the exercise is in line with its constitutional mandate to renew leadership structures across all levels of the party from polling units and wards to local government areas and states before the national gathering.

In a statement jointly issued by the party’s National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinwdu Idigo, and the National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party confirmed the approved schedule.

The statement listed the timetable as follows:

Polling Unit and Ward Congresses – Tuesday, April 7, 2026

Local Government Area Congresses – Thursday, April 9, 2026

State Congresses –Saturday, April 11, 2026

National Convention Tuesday, April 14, 2026

Members aspiring to contest for positions at the ward, local government, or state levels were advised to obtain and complete nomination or expression of interest forms through the party’s official platform.

The party added that the necessary forms and guidelines are available on its website, urging members across the country to take part in the process and adhere to the party’s constitution, regulations, and democratic principles.
