Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has expressed his desire to win the FIFA World Cup, not only for Portugal but also as a tribute to Cristiano Ronaldo’s immense contribution to football.

Speaking in an interview with the BBC, Fernandes described the prospect of lifting the trophy alongside Ronaldo as “something amazing,” especially with what could be the veteran forward’s final appearance at the tournament.

“I want the World Cup not just for Portugal, but for everything Cristiano Ronaldo gave to football and the world,” Fernandes said.

He added that the entire Portuguese squad is fully committed to achieving the dream, stressing their determination to give their all on football’s biggest stage.

“It’s our dream and we will give everything for it,” he added.

Ronaldo, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in football history, is expected to play a key role for Portugal as they aim to secure their first-ever World Cup title.
