The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District and Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has condemned the latest attack on Olegabulu community in Agatu Local Government Area of Benue State, describing the incident as tragic and unacceptable.

The attack, reportedly carried out by suspected herders, claimed the lives of five persons, further heightening concerns over the persistent insecurity in the area.

Senator Moro, who on Wednesday sponsored a motion on the recurring attacks on communities in Benue South, expressed worry that the situation has continued unabated despite repeated calls for intervention.

The motion prompted the Nigerian Senate to call for urgent action by both the federal and state governments to address the crisis and prevent further loss of lives.

Reacting to the latest incident, Moro urged authorities at all levels to take decisive steps to safeguard lives and property, stressing that the protection of citizens remains a constitutional responsibility.

He also extended his condolences to the families of the victims, noting that he shares in their grief and stands in solidarity with them during this difficult time.

The senator reaffirmed his commitment to continue advocating for the safety and well-being of his constituents.
